Working for Brussels clients from a Spanish address, how do members split it?

I am a freelance translator, Dutch, French and English, 57, and most of my work comes from two agencies in Brussels. From next spring my husband and I will live half the year in Pilar de la Horadada, south of Alicante.

We picked the house on https://alegria-realestate.com/ because the small second bedroom looks onto the garden, and that room is now going to be my office. The internet is fibre, the agencies already said they do not care where I sit.

Two ways I see people do it:

one main base, Belgium, and Spain as long holidays with work;

or a real split, six months and six months, and then everything has to be organised twice, bank, health, phone.

For members here who work across two countries: which one did you choose, and what made you decide?
