An opportunity now exists in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for the position of
Director of Finance.
Job Summary/Description:
The Director of Finance supports the Chief Executive in advancing the physical,
economic, social and cultural life of the County and in developing and overseeing the
organisational structures and resources needed to deliver an extensive range of services to
the public in a cost effective and efficient manner.
The Finance Department deals with the short- and long-term financing of the County
Council’s operations, both of a revenue and capital nature. It leads and manages an
effective and responsive financial service to support service delivery.
The Director of Finance manages large teams and budgets. They will be required to manage
and lead their functional areas in a strategic manner and implement change
programmes. Organisational innovation and continuous improvement are significant
priorities for Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, as is the development and use of
smart technologies used to enhance service delivery.
