The Cloud Technical Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is a specialist technical role within the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) at Bank of Ireland, supporting the organisation’s IT and digital transformation strategy. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, scalability, and stability of critical cloud-based platforms and workloads.

Working closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams, the SRE helps design, deploy, and operate cloud-native solutions using modern engineering practices. Key responsibilities include automating operational tasks, monitoring and improving system performance, managing incident and problem processes, supporting change and deployment planning, and maintaining operational documentation.

The role involves working with public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), Linux-based systems, scripting and automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern deployment strategies such as blue/green and canary releases. The position is hybrid, with a primary base in Dublin and flexibility to work from anywhere in Ireland.

This is a permanent, full-time role within a large, regulated financial services environment, supporting mission-critical systems and customer-facing services.
