Bus Éireann, in collaboration with the National Transport Authority, is extending its successful Travel Assistance Scheme to Galway. This innovative initiative empowers individuals with additional needs, enhancing their skills and confidence to independently navigate the public transport network. As a Travel Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in transforming lives through travel.
Interested candidates must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people with disabilities;
* Specific knowledge of issues relating to customers with disabilities;
* Ability to understand and respond appropriately to customers with physical and emotional needs;
* Experience of working closely with customers and customer groups, regularly inviting feedback and suggestions;
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and fluency in English;
* Have a good knowledge of the Bus Éireann, Iarnród Éireann and the TFI Local Link public transport network in Galway; and
* Be willing to work in an outdoor environment.
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of experience and/or CV. All Travel Assistants subject to Garda vetting.
