What is the opportunity?
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain project management experience and exposure of Business Continuity and Operational Resilience while working with senior managers across the Bank. As a part of the Bank of Irelands Group Resilience and Continuity (GR&C) team the Business Engagement Project Manager will have responsibility for a number of key deliverables which strive to improve the banks overall Business Continuity and Operational Resilience.
In this role, you will:
- Manage Project such as regulatory requests, technical developments and resilience and continuity improvements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of each project.
- Identify and manage risks associated with each project.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time within the stipulated scope.
- Ensure a robust risk management structure, environment & process is delivered across the business unit that meets the group expectations around risk profile and 2nd/3rd line reviews.
- Support the creation and implementation of BIAs and BCPs for Important Business Services.
- Identify and implement improvements by way of procedures, processes and training guides.

We are looking for candidates that have solid ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous tasks and/or initiatives and have the ability to provide intellectual rigour to risk assessment, development of business solutions and decision making.
You will possess excellent organisation skills to ensure project deadlines are met, strong reporting and presentation skills and strong analytical acumen with the ability to lead a very broad and diverse agenda. Be able to understand, identify and pragmatically influence the proportionate, risk-based approach to mitigation and monitoring and be confident, articulate and independent minded approach.
Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not vital in order to apply for this role;
- Strong Business Knowledge of the Bank od Ireland Group, processes, products and systems.
- Relevant academic qualification/ and or Business experience.

More about the team
The role is based in Group Resilience and Continuity (GR&C) who form part of the Payments and BCM business function within the Group Technology and Customer Solutions (GTCS) division. The team is a first line Centre of Excellence who with the support of the wider business in continually improving the Business Continuity and Operational Resilience capability of the Bank of Ireland Group.
GR&C are responsible for developing and setting a comprehensive vision and approach for Business Continuity/ Operational Resilience, which are then delivered through frameworks, policies, methodologies, management tools and the provision of sound advice.
This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in person collaboration, exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
