Job Purpose:
Working as part of the Strategic Policy Department the successful candidate will have responsibility for providing the organisation with policy analysis and advisory expertise to support the delivery of IDA Strategy. The role will require the candidate to analyze, develop and propose the public policies and policy interventions required to ensure Ireland remains attractive for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and that IDA achieves its strategic and operational objectives.
Key Tasks:
To support the Strategic Policy team in providing the organisation with a high-quality service in the following areas:
Information Management & Decision Support
IDA Strategy monitoring and review
Policy research
Special Projects & Business Support
To assist the Strategic Policy team in the delivery and support for IDA Strategy.
To manage the process for providing the Department with high quality management information to support the development of IDA policy positions and overall decision making.
To assist the work of monitoring and supporting the implementation of IDA Strategy and to assist in reporting on progress to the Executive Committee, Board and Management team as appropriate.
To provide research support to members of the strategic Policy team, on Irish, European and International policy developments that impact on IDA clients and Ireland as a location for FDI.
To assist in reviewing and updating key documents, and in the preparation of reports to the Executive Committee, Board and Management team as appropriate.
To develop and maintain a database of relevant policy documents, government submissions, client engagements and other information as appropriate.
To review, update and maintain the ATHENA site ensuring that all information is current and, in a user-friendly manner.
To contribute to the presentations to the Management Committee, Executive Committee and Board.
To co-ordinate, manage and respond to information requests from IDA Executives.
To explore and apply ways of driving efficiencies in service delivery.
To demonstrate motivation and ability to work on own initiative and lead projects from start to finish.
To apply strong written and oral communication skills to the achievement of the Department’s work programme and IDA’s policy advocacy goals.
To use the CRM to manage stakeholder and client relationships.
To ensure that continuous learning and development is undertaken through informal and formal learning and participation in the Performance Management and Development Review Process.

Additional Requirements:
A relevant third level qualification to a minimum of a Level 7 Diploma standard is preferred in a public policy, economic or business-related discipline.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
